Lior Khananaev - Writer/Director/Cinematographer
Since the early age of 14, Lior has been obsessed with visual storytelling and technology. Driven by his passion, he was able to self-produce 4 feature length films by the age of 17 and earn a reputation in the community. After leaving York University in Toronto- realizing a more practical approach was needed for his pursuit of cinema, he embarked on a new ambition. In his early 20's, he invested in professional gear and a new education to excel his film Ecdysis. While juggling school, and kick-starting his commercial agency, Lior has successfully completed his first professional feature by the age of 23 and held a private screening at The Royal Cinema. He hopes to continue creating films that are cool, insightful and stay with modern times. " Honored and blessed to be surrounded by my supportive family and friends. They believed in me, and turned themselves into actors when I needed them most. My antagonist, Marat Altinbaev is an investment banker, and if anyone knows what their schedule is like, you would know it's not fitted for a production. Yet he came through, and so did everyone else with their busy lives. People think I'm crazy for hiring strangers on the subway just because I liked their eyes, but its been an absolute pleasure unveiling hidden potential and working with a range of personalities. Making this film was a journey; working with 53 actors and dealing with real set issues had offered me something no film school will ever provide." |
